Jalandhar, November 30: The Deputy Commissioner Jalandhar Mr. Varinder Kumar Sharma
today felicitated the winning teams of district-level National Election
Quiz 2017-18 under the Systematic Voters’ Education and Electoral
Participation (SVEEP) campaign in the district.
Interacting with the students after handing over certificate of
appreciation to them, the Deputy Commissioner said that this sustained
efforts made by the district administration on directions of the
Election Commission of India has been very fruitful in sensitizing
people about the importance of being a voter. He said that the students
participating in these campaigns have been instrumental in creating
awareness amongst the people on a mass scale. Mr. Sharma also
congratulated students for working hard and achieving success in the
quiz competition.
The Deputy Commissioner said that it was a matter of great pride and
satisfaction that teams for all nine assembly segment have
participated in this contest out of which three have emerged
victorious. Mr. Sharma asked the students to carry forward the hard
work and dedication in future for excelling in life. He also asked the
students about the mode of preparation adopted by them for winning the
quiz.
In the quiz competition Navroop Kaur and Jagjowanroop Singh of St.
Jude’s Convent School Nakodar had bagged the first prize, Anjali and
Ranjveer Kaur of Government Girls Senior Secondary School Ladowali
Road had won second prize and Lovepreet Singh and Vishal of Government
Senior Secondary School Mulewal Khaira (Shahkot) had won third prize.
On the occasion, the Deputy Commissioner also honored the students who
had participated in the cultural events during the recently concluded
Punjab State Games for Boys (Under 17).
On the occasion, District Guidance Counselor Mr. Surjit Lal and
The principal of Devi Sahai School Mr. Raj Kumar Sharma were also present.
