SHIMLA— The state government had decided to provide Rs. 50 lakh ex-gratia to the next of the kin in case of death of those drivers, conductors and other staff of HRTC engaged in bringing back the people of the State stranded in various parts of the country.
It was stated by the chief minister, Jai Ram Thakur while appreciating the work of drivers and conductors bringing back a large number of students of the State stranded in Kota of Rajasthan, Delhi, Chandigarh, Mohali and Panchkula and other parts of the docuntry due to lock down here on Wednesday.
He said that the State Government was concerned about the safety and welfare of its employee engaged in fighting the COVID-19 and was providing them all necessary safety equipments such as masks, gloves etc.
Jai Ram Thakur thanked the Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath for the support extended by him for sending back the 22 students of Himachal Pradesh to the State, studying in various institutes at Varanasi in Uttar Pradesh, who are expected to reach Himachal Pradesh by tomorrow.
