DC DIRECTS OFFICIALS TO EXPEDITE HIGHWAY PROJECTS FALLING WITHIN THEIR TERRITORIES
Jalandhar, October 8, 2020: With a commitment to completing the highway projects of the district within a stipulated time-frame, Deputy Commissioner Ghanshyam Thori has asked the concerned officials to expedite the pending work on all four highway projects falling within their jurisdiction.
Participating in a virtual review meeting chaired by Chief Secretary Vinni Mahajan, the deputy commissioner apprised her about the latest situation on all four highway projects underway in Jalandhar including Jalandhar-Hoshiarpur four-laning project, Panipat-Jalandhar six-laning project, Delhi-Katra expressway and Delhi-Katra expressway Amritsar connectivity projects.
The deputy commissioner said that the work related to the land accusation, payment of awards to the landowners, transfer of land to the highway authorities were being done in full swing and these tasks would be completed within a given period. District administration was according to utmost priority to all these highway projects as these highways would cater to the traffic problems and provide people with the fastest access to the other districts adding he directed the officials to clear all pending works related to these projects.
The deputy commissioner issued on spot directions to the various competent authority of land acquisition (CALA) to make joint spot visit with the NHAI officials to do away with any kind of pendency concerning land acquisition procedure. He said that the district the administration has verified most of the villages falling in Nakodar, Phillaur and Jalandhar-2 Sub Divisions for the 3(D) notification for Delhi-Amritsar-Katra expressway, and the final notification to be done in the coming days.
On the occasion SDM, Dr. Jaiinder Singh, SDM Rahul Sindhu, District Revenue Officer Jashanjit Singh and others were present.
