75 more patients of COVID-15 discharged

Jalandhar, August 17,2020:- In a major sigh of relief, as many as 75 more patients including nine from the local civil hospital, 11 from COVID Care Centre in Government Meritorious School, one Military Hospital and 16 from private hospitals today were cured and discharged.

Besides, 38 patients have also completed their home isolation today. Now in Jalandhar, 2694 patients so far have won over COVID besides the district.

On being discharged, the patients lauded the hard work and commitment of the doctors, nurses and health workers during their treatment. They also expressed their gratitude towards state government led by Chief Minister Captain Amarinder Singh for making strenuous efforts for ensuring quality treatment to them in the hospitals.

Deputy Commissioner Ghanshyam Thori pointed out that the situation was totally under control in the district and there was no need to get panicky as cases were surfacing due to aggressive testing besides urging the people to strictly follow the health and safety protocols to keep the further spread of COVID-19 under check. He, however, said that the district administration was fully geared up to meet any sort of contingency.

He said that in this battle against novel coronavirus, the district administration was making all-out efforts to provide the best possible treatment to the patients of coronavirus. The Deputy Commissioner said that all of us should work in tandem in these tough times to beat the coronavirus in larger public interests so that the previous lives could be saved.

He said that it was need of the hour to adhere to the guidelines issued by the State Government and Health Department as preventive measures against COVID-19 viz wearing mask, washing hands frequently, maintaining social distancing and immediately inform the health authorities in case of any symptoms of coronavirus.
