25 GNDU Life Sciences and Sciences students Placed in IDS Infotech

Amritsar, January 28, 2020: Twenty Five students of Life Sciences and Sciences faculty have been placed in IDS Infotech through Campus Placements at a salary package of Rs. 4.80 Lakh per annum. 4 students are from B.Pharma., 3 each from M.Sc. Human Genetics, M.Sc. Microbiology and M.Sc. Molecular Biology & Biochemistry, 2 each from M.Sc. Food Science, M.Sc. Environmental Science, M.Pharma. and Bachelor of Sports Physiotherapy, 1 each from B.Tech. Food Tech., M.Sc. Zoology, M.Sc. Chemistry and M.Sc. Botany. These students shall join their jobs in June 2020, just after completing their final exam in May 2020.

            Dr. Amit Chopra, Assistant Placement Officer said that the students have been selected for the post of Medical Scribe. Medical Scribes are the future of an interactive industry. They are the Physicians support system. As a Medical Scribe, they will work alongside physicians in a real-time environment. Medical Scribes undertake to create and/or updating the medical charts of patients in Electronic Health Record (EHR) and thereby freeing the physicians for focusing on what they do best taking care of patients.

All this is done while the Scribe is far away from the physician, but connected through technology. With the onset of technology like Google Glass, the idea of a Medical Scribe has become a reality. Being a part of the live physician-patient encounter, Medical Scribes greatly add value by increasing the time spent on patient care.

            Ashok Benial, HR Manager and his team from IDS Infotech, Mohali visited Guru Nanak Dev University. They conducted a written tests, online test and interviews to select the students.

Vice-Chancellor Dr. Jaspal Singh Sandhu and Dean Academic Affairs   Dr. S.S. Behl congratulated the students for this great success. Dr. Amit Chopra told that Pharmaceutical companies like Jubilant, IOL Chemicals, SRF have already conducted campus recruitments for students of M.Sc. Chemistry students. He told that total 605 students of Batch 2020 have been placed till now.
