13th BLOOD DONATION CAMP by AKHIL BHARTIYA SHRI SANGMESHWER SEWA DAL

 SHRI SANGHMESHWAR SEWA DAL ( 102 units collected)

Ludhiana/Jalandhar,May 27,2018 ( By SK.Vyas): As many as  102 units of blood was donated  voluntarily at the time when Akhil Bhartiya Shri Sanghmeshwar Sewa Dal, Ludhiana branch  organized a ‘Blood donation camp’ at Ludhiana today on the 78th birthday of Anant Bhivushit  Mahant Ganga   Puri Ji Maharaj , Akhil Bhartiya Shri Sanghmeshwar, Arunai Pehowa. Mahant  Puri Ji Maharaj  blessed the Blood Donors and encouraged the public and organizers for undertaking such social welfare activities.

Speaking on the occasion Dr. Harish Verma, Secretary , Sewa Dal, said that was the thirteen time that a blood donation camp was organized by Ludhiana branch  of Sewa Dal . Blood camp was supervised by a team of doctors  under  Dr Rajesh Kumar  ,  Blood transfusion department. DMC&H, Ludhiana. He highlighted the benefits of blood donation and persuaded people for voluntary donations for the cause of society. Simultaneously, a medical health camp was also organized and the team was lead by Dr Neelam Gill from a Civil dispensary, Sanet,  Dr Rajesh Goel from  Army hospital, Dr Suraj Dhillon, Dental surgeon and Sanjeev Arora for eye testing. 300 patients were checked for various ailments along with blood testing, eye testing and pregnancy related tests were also done. The camp started with the seeking of blessings from Almighty. In a novel gesture, members of Dal, other people and even local leaders came forward and and health check up camp  donated the blood voluntarily and a total of 102 units of blood were donated. Mr. Gurpreet Gogi, Municipal Councilor  also participated.

D. K. Puri, president,  Ludhiana branch, of  Sewa Dal informed that the Dal is  organizing such camps at a regular interval along with other social welfare activities camps and said that dal has earlier sent loaded trucks containing food items  to earth quack victims of Gujrat, Uttranchal and J& K .  Rajinder Mohan Tandon, Treasurer of the Dal said that now we are also motivating the people for   pledging to donate eyes. Puri specially thanked S. Tejinder Singh, Secteratary, Prabhandak Committee Gurudwara Singh Sabha, Gobind Nagar, and Mr Sat pal Sharma, President Krishna Mandir sabha and  BK Sharma Pandit ji  of the mandir for their whole hearted support for organizing this camp. . Dr Verma informed that  Punjab is far behind in blood donation, where as Gujrat  State is at number one in blood donation in the whole of the country by contributing about  11% of blood units. Further, Dr. Verma told that the Dal has already solemnized two times the mass marriages function in which 25 girls were married, has arranged twelve    blood donation camps annually.
