School of Communication Studies to host students from across North India
Chandigarh January 23, 2020: School of Communication Studies, Panjab University, Chandigarh is all set to host its Media festival, ‘SOCH: Think Out Of The Box’ on
Friday, 24th and Saturday, 25th January, 2020. This year’s festival is
a tribute to the Former School of Communication Studies Professor,
Prof. (Dr.) Sanjay Wadwalkar, who passed away last December.
The festival was kickstarted by an energising flash mob of students at
University’s star attraction Student Center on Thursday, 23 January.
The two day festival will offer various competitions to media students
and some events will be kept open for the general public.
Major competitions of the festival include Poetry slam: a competition
that can fetch you luring awards which will be followed by Poster
making and extempore. Media students will be encouraged to tickle
their creative nerve for Ad Mad to be followed by a very intresting Rj
Hunt. The festival will also host Spin a story, Street play, Debate
and the Media Quiz. Collage making, Photography, Audio Visual
Reporting, Documnetary, Open mic and Talent hunt will form the other
half of the 24th January. On the second day, Alumni meet ‘Revivre
2020’ will be held where eminent media personalities are expected to
grace the festival with their presence. Fashion show will be the star
attraction of the second day. A panel discussion on “Cyber Space: The
Grassroot media” will also take place. The whole event is being held
under the guidance of Chairperson, School of Communication Studies,
The two day festival will attract students from all over the Northern
Region including all major universities and colleges.
