Jalandhar, February 9,2020: Secretary Regional Transport Authority (RTA) Dr Nayan Jassal today said that the transport department would act sternly against the buses playing vulgar and provocative music in their vehicles.
The Secretary Regional Transport Authority said that the Punjab government has banned the use of vulgar and provocative music in the state-run transport buses adding that severest of severe action would be taken against the buses violating these orders. She reiterated that the state government was committed to providing best transport services to its people and it was imperative for the officers concerned to ensure the proper and forceful implementation of the instructions in larger public interest. Dr. Jassal said that a sustained campaign would be launched in the coming days during which random surprise checks would be conducted to check the use of provocative music on the buses.
Secretary RTA also said that the frequent use of vulgar and loud music in the buses not only disturbs the passengers but also results in fatal accidents occurred due to the distraction of the drivers. She also urged the passengers to contact her personally if any loud, provocative or vulgar music was played in the buses.
