New Delhi, August 31, 2020: Raksha Mantri Rajnath Singh has expressed his deep anguish over the demise of the former president of India, Pranab Mukherjee. In a Twitter message, Shri Singh said, “He was widely respected by the people across all sections of society. His demise is a personal loss. He had tremendous knowledge of India’s history, diplomacy, public policy and also defense.” Remembering his persona, Shri Singh said “ Pranabda epitomized simplicity, honesty and strength of character. He served our country with diligence and dedication. His contribution to public life was invaluable.”Raksha Mantri expressed deepest condolences to his bereaved family. The former President of India Shri Pranab Mukherjee, breathed his last today, the 31st August in New Delhi. He has been senior minister in various central government ministries, including the Ministry of Defence during 2004-06.
