Kapurthala, September 24, 2020: Deputy commissioner Kapurthala Deepti Uppal has said that the Punjab Government has decided to provide the medical kits to the COVID patients under home isolation to facilitate them for a regular check-up of their health at their home.
Addressing the Kapurthala residents in a Facebook interaction, she said that the district Kapurthala would receive these medical kits in a day or two which will be further provided to the patients. These kits included an oximeter, thermometer, medicines, literature to make aware people about how to beat COVID and pulse meter, etc.
She said that it was noticed that the people approached the hospital in a late-stage where the oxygen level turns low due to COVID which becomes very harmful in many cases. She said that with these kits people would be able to test their pulse and oxygen level any time and in any adverse situation they can contact doctors immediately.
Talking about the preparations of COVID control in paddy procurement, the Deputy Commissioner said that the administration has made adequate arrangements in all grain markets for screening and testing of labor and farmers. Besides that joint teams of health, civil officials and mandi board officials have been constituted for the same.
She also informed that with the increase in testing, the Case fatality rate of the district starts decreasing. She said that the district has increased it to 1500 sample collection per day which will be further increased.
Presently the district has registered 2793 positive cases till today, out of which 647 are active cases. Besides that 112 persons also discharged after tested negative in a single day which is the highest number in a day.
