Ferozepur, February 27, 2021: A felicitation ceremony was held at the DCM International School on the occasion of World NGO Day to honor the social organizations for selfless work done by social workers in the border district.
In times of the COVID-19 pandemic, the work of Non-Government Organisations (NGOs) and social workers have become all the more important as many of them have laid down their lives in the line of duty. The significant role of NGOs in shaping societies is hard to ignore as their volunteers and staff play an important role in making the planet earth a better place.
Present among others were CEO Anirudh Gupta, DCM Group of Schools, Dr.Parveen Dhingra, Dr.Sheel Sethi, Vinay Mehta, Chander Mohan Handa, Dr.K.C, Arora, Dr.Satinder Singh, Rishi Sharma, MC, Parminder Handa, Chairman Sukhwinder Atari, Balbir Bath, Ashok Sharma, Manoj Arya, D.R.Goyal, Deepak Sharma.
Vice Principal, Abhishek Arora said that DCM Group is an educational institution as well as a social organization. Various projects are being run under the Community Outreach Program in all the schools of DCM Group. The teachers and students of the school visit the blind school every month to help the needy from time to time and celebrate the birthday of those living there. Apart from this, every festival is celebrated in old age ashram, leprosy ashram, civil hospital, jhugis by giving gifts to the needy.
Wishing all the social workers on World NGO Day, CEO Anirudh Gupta said that all the institutions of Ferozepur are role models not only for the state but for the whole country. He said that in the present era, a donation has become most important and the spirit with which the people of Ferozepur are dedicated in the field of social service is an inspiration to everyone.
National Awardee Dr. Satindra Singh said that at present, organizations should run service projects in the areas where people really need them. Dr. Sheel Sethi said the services by the NGOs are a source of inspiration for all.
