The Deputy Commissioner Jalandhar Mr. Varinder Kumar Sharma today inaugurated the fair in which 73 leading companies including LIC, ICICI, Pukhraj, E-Pyramid, Reliance Jio, Rank Steps, Max Life Insurance, V-Con, OLA, PayTM, GBK Metal firm, Hindustan Hydraulics, Power System, Control Spectra and others. During the mega Job Fair 2633 job aspirants turned up for getting the jobs out of which 1519 were selected for the jobs and 253 others were shortlisted
Describing this as Red letter day for the unemployed youth, the Deputy Commissioner said that the job fairs have provided a platform for the youth to become self-reliant by getting jobs. He said that this out of the box initiative of the Captain Amarinder Singh government was proving to be very beneficial for the job seekers and job givers. Sharma said that these fairs were proving instrumental in making the youth of Punjab an active partner in the socio-economic growth of the state.
The Deputy Commissioner said that the district administration would continue such endeavors in the coming days to ensure that maximum numbers of youth were benefitted from it. Interacting with the youngsters, Sharma told them that it was a historic day for them as they were going to start a new inning in their lives. He told that it was just a beginning the marvelous success story which all of them were going to script in the future.
