MCM NSS undertakes cleanliness drive at Badheri Anganwadi

Chandigarh, 26, October: Keeping up with the spirit of swachhta, the NSS units of Mehr Chand Mahajan DAV College for Women, Chandigarh undertook a cleanliness cum beautification drive in Anganwadi Complex of their adopted Village Bagheri, Chandigarh. During the drive, the volunteers segregated waste and collected more than 11 Kg of single-use plastic waste material from the complex that included plastic bottles, wrappers, spoons, disposable cups, and plates. They thoroughly cleaned every nook and corner of the Anganwadi complex that included the playing area, parking lot, corridors, and green belt. Unwanted weeds and shrubs around the periphery and in the complex were removed, and dry leaf litter was collected to be put in compost pits. The volunteers participated enthusiastically in the cleanliness drive and promoted the concept of Swachh Bharat Swastha Bharat as part of the Clean India Programme.
Principal Dr. Nisha Bhargava lauded the consistent efforts of MCM NSS to create awareness regarding swachhta, mobilization of people, and ensuring their involvement in the Clean India initiative. She added that such concerted efforts are imperative for realizing the dream of a clean and green India.
