Chandigarh,23,July:The Institution Innovation Council (IIC) of Mehr Chand Mahajan DAV College for Women, Chandigarh organised online awareness sessions on ‘Entrepreneurship Development’ and ‘Pre-Incubation and Incubation Management’. The resource persons for these enlightening sessions were MCM IIC Innovation Ambassadors Dr Indu Arora, Vice President, MCM IIC and Head, Department of Computer Science at MCM and Applications and Dr Neetu, Convener, MCM IIC and Head, Department of Zoology at MCM. A total of 105 students and faculty members attended these sessions. The session on Entrepreneurship Development was conducted by Dr Indu Arora wherein she shared stories of eminent entrepreneurs like Dhirubhai Ambani, Karsanbhai Patel, Ramesh Babu, Patricia Narayan, Narayan Murthy and Dr.Verghese Kurien, providing glimpses of inspiring entrepreneurial journeys and motivating the participants to embrace this journey towards self-reliance. The session underlined the importance of entrepreneurship for leading to the realisation of ‘Atma Nirbhar Bharat’. Dr. Neetu conducted the session on Pre-Incubation and Incubation Management wherein she explained the role and importance of pre-incubation and incubation processes as catalysts for innovative entrepreneurs. She informed the participants that in the ideation stage, the ideas need proper nurturing and hand-holding, and incubation centres are established to cater to the needs of the budding start-ups. Both the sessions received overwhelming response from the audience whose active participation made the sessions successful.
Principal Dr. Nisha Bhargava expressed appreciation for the efforts of the college’s IIC to conduct insightful sessions for the students aiming at creating start-ups and entrepreneurial ventures. She added that MCM is working consistently for promotion of culture of innovation and entrepreneurship among students so that the dream of a self-reliant India is realised.
