Chandigarh, July 18, 2018: – The Integrated Agromet Advisory Service Unit of Chaudhary Charan Singh Haryana Agricultural University, Hisar has predicted the possibility of variable weather up to July 22, light to moderate rain or thundershowers associated with winds may occur at an isolated place in the region.

While stating this on Tuesday, a spokesman for the University said that the maximum temperature is likely to be between 31 and 35 degree Celsius and minimum between 24 and 26 degree Celsius. The average wind speed would range from 6 to 14 kilometre per hour.

Due to the possibility of rain in next four days, farmers are advised to continue transplanting of rice and complete as soon as possible.

They are advised to drain out the excess rainwater in the cotton crop and due to favourable weather condition, there may be a chance for an infestation of Jassid in a cotton crop, they are advised to keep vigil.

Farmers are advised to withhold sowing of guar and bajra in next three days with the certified seeds and also withhold the irrigation in vegetables or fruits plants and drain out the excess rainwater.

Farmers are advised to start the transplanting of fruit crops from the certified nursery with the consultation of officers of the University and Horticultural Department.

Farmers are advised to keep the animals in well-ventilated place and provide clean drinking water and green forage as per requirement, due to humid weather conditions.

For livestock management, the farmers have been advised to provide them with 50 grams of Iodized salt and 50 to 100 grams mineral mixture daily with animal feed and fodder to keep them healthy. Due to humid and warm weather conditions, farmers are advised to keep the animals under well-ventilated place and provide clean drinking water as per requirement and keep the area around the animal shed clean to avoid the infestation of house fly or other, he added.
