While mourning the death of Jagmohan Singh Olympion, S. Teja Singh Dhaliwal, General secretary of Pb. Basketball Association informed that he was born on April 1. 1932, at Rajoana Kalan, Ludhiana District.  Jagmohan, six feet tall and a science graduate of studied in Local SCD Govt. college, Ludhiana. While in college here he had created a new record of 15.5 seconds in the Inter-University Championships in 1952 in the Hurdles Race then. His grooming and passion in him secured a berth on the Indian Athletics Team in Rome Olympics and then cut the tape in 14.5 seconds equaling the Chand’s national record.

The SCD Govt. College  Alumni Association members viz Amarjit Singh Sandhu, Prabhjot Singh and Brij B.Goyal  and  Dr. Dharam Singh Sandhu, the Principal of the college deeply mourn the demise of an illustrious alumnus of this college who made the college proud.

“He deserves a sporting salute on his demise for his contribution in sports in NIS when he alongwith Dr R L Anand, Dr Muthiah, S Jagmohan Singh,S Balkishan Singh and S Gurbaksh Singh proved their worth in the conduct of the 1982 Asian Games.1980-82 NIS was at it’s peak preparing the Nation itself for the Mega Event &  proved it’s worth in all the sports disciplines”  said Amarjit Singh Sandhu-GCL Alumnus.
