Haryana Home Minister, Sh. Anil Vij lauded the drug de-addiction campaign launched by Yamunanagar Police.

Chandigarh, November 30 – Haryana Home Minister, Sh. Anil Vij lauded the drug de-addiction campaign launched by Yamunanagar Police. He said that the youth are benefitting from the drug de-addiction campaign jointly run by SP, Yamunanagar, Sh. Kamaldeep Goyal and various NGOs and he hoped that similar efforts are made in the whole of Haryana.

Sh. Vij today interacted with the officials of various NGOs working in the drug de-addiction campaign in Ambala. The Home Minister said that the police is again steering the youth who have given up drugs towards the right ideology.

Sh. Anil Vij said that apart from the police, the health department and other departments need to work together in drug de-addiction campaign and they will soon hold a joint meeting of the departments and make programmes. Every effort will be made to bring the youth out of the drug trap.

He said that at present many drug de-addiction centers are open at different places. Wherever the number of beds in these centres is less, the number of beds will be increased according to the requirement. Efforts will be made to open such centres in the areas where drug de-addiction centres are not available.

It is worth mentioning that Yamunanagar Police has launched a campaign against drug addiction, in which on one hand the police is taking strict action against those who sell drugs, on the other hand drug addicts are getting rid of drugs and bringing drug addicts on the right path. In this programme 22 NGOs are also coordinating with the police. Sh. Kamaldeep said that till now 175 youths of Yamunanagar have quit drugs by joining this campaign of ours.
