Haryana  decides to revise the Non Practicing Allowance (NPA) at the rate of 20 percent of Medical Officers

Chandigarh February 16: Haryana Government has decided to revise the Non Practicing Allowance (NPA) at the rate of 20 percent of Medical Officer, Assistant Medical Officer, Senior Medical Officer, Dental Surgeon and Director of ESI Health Care Department with effect from May 1, 2018.

            While stating this today, Finance Minister, Capt Abhimanyu said that Chief Minister, Manohar Lal has approved a proposal in this regard. The decision would benefit 272 beneficiaries in the State. The annual financial liability on account of this revision would be over Rs 4.21 crore.

            Those who would be eligible for this allowance included government employee posted against a clinical post and actually working against such a post, government employee posted against a whole time post and government employee in whose case there is ample scope of undertaking private practice. This allowance would admissible only in such cases and circumstances where it is necessary to prohibit the private practice in the public interest. The sum of the pay+NPA should not exceed Rs 2, 24,550  per month.
