Gurukul Vidyapeeth confers International Women’s Day Award-2017 to Santosh Yadav
Chandigarh, Mar 11 – Haryana Vidhan Sabha Deputy Speaker, Santosh Yadav, conferred International Women’s Day Award-2017 on 22 prominent women from different walks of life for their outstanding contribution to society. The awards have been constituted by Gurukul Vidyapeeth and Shanti Sarup Sharma Memorial Educational and Charitable Trust (S-4 Trust) with the aim to recognize the achievements of the women in various fields and to inspire others to follow in their footsteps.
Santosh Yadav lauded the efforts of Gurukul Vidyapeeth and S-4 Trust, and especially those of Dr. Rinku Kalia, eminent vocalist, and founder-trustee of the S-4 Trust, for the empowerment of women.
The awardees include bureaucrats, entrepreneurs, artists, musicians, educationists, politicians, sportswomen, doctors, and social activists.
Mayor, Chandigarh Municipal Corporation, Asha Jaswal was the guest of honor on the occasion, whereas Dr. Rinku Kalia delivered the welcome address. Chief Executive Officer, Gurukul Vidyapeeth, Dr. Manmohan Garg, proposed the vote of thanks.
