Amritsar April 17, 2018 ( By Madhur ) – The inauguration of the Gallery History – Dream was held today in the Guru Nanak Dev University Campus.
The exhibitions of drawings, prints and paintings was inaugurated by Prof. Shweta Shenoy, Head of Sports Sciences & Medicine Department in the presence of Prof. Jaspal Singh Sandhu, Vice Chancellor Prof. S.S. Behl, Dean Students’ Welfare, Prof. Anish Dua, Prof. Geeta Hundal, Prof. Mandeep Kaur and students. The Gallery has been established in Bhai Gurdas Library building. The exhibits in the gallery include the paintings and drawings made by a student of the University belonging to different departments and some historical pictures of the University.
Vice chancellor Prof. Jaspal Singh Sandhu said that this is for the first time an exhibition of the artwork of the students has been conducted. This has been done to encourage the students to showcase their creative talent.
Prof. S.S. Behl Dean Student Welfare said that now we will start the series of exhibitions with different themes and different mode of arts.
Prof. Geeta Hundal and Prof. Anish Dua expressed happiness over the talent of the students. The University has provided an equal opportunity to amateur and budding artists.
Mr. Harpreet Singh a student of the University said: “Such galleries are vital as they provide an access to many creative works of young and upcoming artists, who require a strong platform to move into the rapidly evolving fine and performing art world.”
