Chandigarh, February 3,23020 ( YS.RANA): Haryana Chief Secretary, Keshni Anand Arora directed all the Deputy Commissioners to expedite the development work to be carried out under the MP Local Area Development Scheme (MPLADS) and to prepare a list of the works within ten days and upload the same to Public Finance Management System (PFMS) website at https://pfms.nic.in.
The Chief Secretary gave these instructions during a review meeting of MPLADS State Level Committee with District Deputy Commissioners through video conferencing here today.
The Chief Secretary said that under the 17th Lok Sabha, the first installment of Rs 2.5 crore has been released to all the regions. Apart from that, she said that the Rural Development Department plays a major role in socio-economic development by implementing various schemes for the upliftment of rural people. Therefore, in order to use the funds for development works, an estimate of the works should be made so that the projects can be started. Apart from that, she directed them to make sure to monitor ongoing projects.
Instructing the officers, Arora said that all the works declared by the MPs should be completed on priority and the utility certificates of the works should also be sent on time. Apart from that, she said that the nodal deputy commissioner concerned for development works should coordinate with other districts and complete the works soon so that the upcoming installment for the projects can be received from the Central Government. Apart from that she also said that a list of new projects should be prepared and sent to the Chief Secretary’s office within a week.
The Chief Secretary gave further directed that from now on the list of all projects under MPLADS should be made and uploaded on the https://pfms.nic.in portal of the Public Finance Management System (PFMS) as directed by the Central Government. Apart from that, she said that funds too should be disbursed through this website. This will bring transparency in the system on the one hand, and on the other hand, a review of development works will also be easily possible.
The Chief Secretary appreciated all the officials, saying that Haryana is one of the leading states in the country in terms of progress under MPLADS and further similar development works should be done so that regional development can be promoted.
In the meeting, the Chief Secretary instructed all the Deputy Commissioners to speed up the survey work so that every home has access to drinking water under the Jal Jeevan Mission. Apart from that, she said that the Public Health Engineering Department should take steps to regularize all illegal water connections as per rules.
