Further Home Minister said that expansion of forensic facility would indirectly create fear among the criminals and forensic facility would certainly bring down the crime rates in Delhi and also creates fear among criminals. The Minister also appreciated the work of forensic science laboratory especially in crime against women (DNA). He also promised to extend their support for forensic science laboratory in the future as well. The Minister also inaugurated the Brain Fingerprinting Facilities for Forensic Psychological Examination for suspects and criminals. The government has decided to search and establish the world class latest technology and to reform the laboratory with well-equipped forensic tools and machinery.
Director of Delhi Forensic Laboratory, Deepa Verma while addressing the gathering in her welcome speech for dignitaries. She further added that Annexe Building shall be equipped with the expansion of the following facilities:
• Hi-Tech DNA Lab for Crime against Women and Children (POCSO) • Advanced Cyber Forensic Lab to Examine On-Line and Off-Line Frauds
• Ultra Modern Facilities for Testing of Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS)
• Advanced Narco Analysis and Brain Mapping Facilities for Psychological Examination
• Advanced Crime Scene Examination & Investigation Services (24X7).
In the course of new development, a separate Vehicle Examination (VEERA) site which would be exclusively dedicated to Vehicle Examination that earlier have involved in any crime is ready now and would be operational very shortly in Rohini Sector -21 and 23.
On this occasion Additional Chief Secretary Sri Satya Gopal Jee, Special Secretary (Home) Md. Ashraf Ali, Rahul Mehra Standing Counsel (Delhi Government), K.C. Varshney Dy. Director, Sanjeev Gupta I/C CSMD, Anurag Sharma AD, Dr. Kanak Lata Verma AD, Dr. Rajnish Singh several officers and staffs of the Forensic Science Laboratory were present on the occasion.
