Delhi Govt announces closure of Anganwadi Centres in Delhi till March 31
* All 10740 Anganwadi Centres (AWCs) shall remain closed
New Delhi: The Department of  Women and Child Development issued a notice regarding the closure of all Anganwadi Centres across Delhi in the wake of the Coronavirus Outbreak.
The notification was issued as a precautionary measure to stop the spread of COVID 19 (Coronavirus) among young children and pregnant/Lactating mothers.
In the light of the current public health scenario, Minister of Women and Child Development Department said, “ It is a precautionary measure to avoid the spreading of Coronavirus.
Children due to their tender age are more susceptible to infection which is why it is best that all AWCs remain closed till 31/3/2020.
It is also best advised that in such a scenario pregnant/lactating mothers should not be exposed to any environment where there can be even the slightest possibility of this virus spreading. The Delhi Govt. is taking all possible precautionary measures to control coronavirus from spreading.” –  Rajendra Pal Gautam
Yesterday, the Education Department announced the closure of all primary schools across Delhi.
