New Delhi February 18, 2021:Delhi Chief Minister  Arvind Kejriwal on Thursday provided Rs 1 crore financial assistance each to the families of Corona warriors Late Om pal Singh and Raj Kumar each. Arvind Kejriwal expressed his gratitude for the sacrifice of Late Om pal Singh and Raj Kumar and service for the people of Delhi.

He said that the pain these families have faced is irreplaceable but I am hopeful that with this financial assistance these families will get some relief. Kejriwal said, “The past year has been very tough for all of us. But during this one year amid the COVID-19 pandemic, the Covid warriors of Delhi fought this battle from the front. Today I visited the family of late Shri Om pal Singh. He was the principal of government boys senior secondary school Kalyanpuri. You all know that during the COVID-19 pandemic and the lockdown the Delhi government was running various hunger relief centers where Shri Singh was working. Unfortunately during the work, he got affected by Covid and then lost his life. Today I also visited the family of late  Raj Kumar who was a security guard at the Rajiv Gandhi Hospital. He was a frontline worker and he got affected by Covid and lost his life.”

He said, “Today I met the families of these Covid Warriors and handed over cheques of Rs.1 crores each. The pain these families have faced is irreplaceable but I am hopeful that with this financial assistance these families will get some relief. Today I want to salute all the Covid warriors of Delhi. During the COVID-19 pandemic, they have worked relentlessly for the citizens of Delhi. The Delhi government has already announced that we will provide Rs.1 crores to the families of COVID warriors who have lost their lives during COVID duty.”
