Jalandhar, February 7, 2020: Deputy Commissioner Jalandhar Varinder Kumar Sharma today said that all the farmers registered under PM- Kisan portal must be issued Kisan Credit Cards at the earliest.
Chairing a meeting with the officers of the banks here today, the Deputy Commissioner said that all the farmers who have been hitherto not issued the Kisan Credit cards or those who have not renewed their cards must be covered under the fortnight-long special drive being launched from February 8th.
He said that Kisan Credit Cards must be provided to hitherto uncovered farmers in a Mission Mode. Sharma said that all the PM Kisan beneficiaries who do not have Kisan Credit Cards or have inactive KCC, should approach the bank branch where they have PM Kisan account with their land record and crop sown details.
The Deputy Commissioner said that farmers already having KCC, but requiring the inclusion of admissible enhanced limit for livestock and fisheries activities might also approach respective bank branches. He said that bank branches should map the PM Kisan beneficiaries vis-a-vis KCC holders to have a list of PM-Kisan beneficiaries who do not have KCC from their branch. Sharma said that this list would be shared with village Sarpanch, who shall motivate such farmers to approach the bank branch for the issue of KCC.
The Deputy Commissioner asked the banks to ensure the issue of KCC within two weeks of submission application. He said that a simplified KCC application form for PM-Kisan beneficiaries could also be applied through CSC (Common Service Centers). Sharma assured active participation from Panchayat Secretaries, Patwaris and Agriculture Department Officers to ensure hassle free availability of land records documents and sanction of KCC limit by the bank branches.
