Chandigarh—Tax Bar Association, Chandigarh organized a study circle session on ‘Budget 2021’ at Sales Tax Bar Room, Sector 17, Chandigarh on Friday. Parveen Aneja, President of the Bar Association graced the occasion while its general sectetary, Sanjeev Khurana conducted the proceedings of the session. The session was attended by around 50 senior members of the bar association and income tax lawyers.
Advocate Ankit Dhiman, Joint Secretary, Chandigarh Bar Association shared his views on the impact of Budget on Direct Tax proposals. He said that the present Budget is very technical and in this the assessment procedure has been completely overhauled by the introduction of the Faceless Assessment Scheme, 2019.
Dhiman added that the assessment procedure will now be conducted in a completely faceless and jurisdiction-less way where all the internal and external communications would be made electronically. Various provisions have been introduced to promote the digital economy with more non-cash transactions.
Advocate Chetan Jain highlighted the provisions on indirect Tax.
Other Senior Advocates including J.P. Dhiman (Ex-President, Chandigarh Bar Association), Prem Inder Rattan, Daljit Sandhu, Ranjiv loomba, Jagjit Singh along with Mohit Dhiman (Chartered Accountant), etc were also present over the session.
