CBI arrests MCD's Assistant Sanitary Inspector and temp staff in Bribery

New Delhi Apil 12,2021:             The Central Bureau of Investigation has arrested an Assistant Sanitary Inspector, MCD City, S.P.Zone, Old Rohtak Road, Delhi and a temporary staff of MCD in a bribery case.

            A case was registered against an Assistant Sanitary Inspector, MCD, Kishanganj, City SP Zone, New Delhi.The complainant  working as temporary staff of MCD since 1998  has  alleged that the MCD officials used to take the ATM cards of temporary staff and pay only part of their salary to them. It was further alleged that the complainant’s ATM card was with him and the complainant did not want to give it to MCD officials. The complainant has alleged that he was, therefore, neither deployed for duty since last six months nor paid any salary.  The Assistant Sanitary Inspector was allegedly demanding a bribe of Rs.8000/- from deploying him on duty. Accordingly, the first instalment of bribe of Rs.4,000/- was allegedly negotiated.

            CBI laid a trap and caught the Assistant Sanitary Inspector & a temporary staff of MCD, Delhi while demanding & accepting the said bribe amount from the complainant.  During the search at the office of the accused, several incriminating documents including blank signed cheques, ATM cards etc. were recovered. This also led to searches at the residence of other suspect( a Sanitary Inspector) in Ghaziabad and a sum of Rs.38 lakh(approx) and other documents were recovered.  The role of said Sanitary Inspector is being looked into

            The arrested accused were produced before the Competent Court and the Assistant Sanitary Inspector was sent to 2 days Police Custody &  the other temporary staff to Judicial Custody.

  1.  Om Pal, Assistant Sanitary Inspector, MCD City S.P. Zone, Old           Rohtak Road, Delhi.
  2. Jitendra, Temporary Staff of MCD, Delhi
