ANNOUNCES RS FIVE LAKH FOR THE DEVELOPMENT OF VILLAGE

DHANDOWAL (SHAHKOT) February 16  (000) – The State Health and Family Welfare minister Brahm Mohindra on Saturday exhorted the youths to embrace sports and make the country feel proud by achieving new feats in sports.

Inaugurating Kabaddi Tournament in Dhandowal Sports Stadium, he said that Punjab Government led by Chief Minister Capt Amarinder Singh is committed for the development of sports in the state.

He said that the government has formed a country’s best sports policy for conferring awards and cash prizes besides government jobs to those players who bring laurels to the state and country by bagging medals in the various International and National sports events.

He further said that the government has already waged a war against the drug menace and this problem is being wiped out completely.

 Mohindra stated that by promoting the sports among the youths, their energy could be channelized in the right direction.

He appealed the people to motivate the youths to take up the sports in their lives and we all must fight against the drug menace collectively.

The cabinet minister also announced to give a grant of Rs Five lakh for the development of the village from his discretionary funds.

He also said that funds for the trauma centre in Shahkot Civil hospital have also been approved and he would also seek a report about Mehatpur Government Hospital and facilities would be strengthened there too.

Meanwhile, Shahkot MLA  Hardev Singh Ladi gave the details about development works being carried out in his constituency. He also claimed Punjab government would leave no stone unturned for the development of Shahkot.

On this occasion, Former Cabinet Minister Joginder Singh Mann,  Deputy Superintendent of Police  Dilbagh Singh, Tehsildar Inder Dev Singh Minhas and others were present.
