Jalandhar,April 18,2018 : Kanya Maha Vidyalaya-the Heritage and Autonomous Institution, Jalandhar organized the pious Amar-Jyoti function to mark the culmination of the academic session 2017-18. The chief guest on the occasion were two ladies of great repute Deepika Singh, A.C.P. Crime Against Women and Dr. Kamal Gupta a renowned gynecologist of Jalandhar City. Also present to grace the occasion were Dr. Sushma Chawla,  Sushila Bhagat, Neeru Kapoor, Dhruv Mittal and Dr. Satpal Gupta. After a warm floral welcome of all the guest Principal, Prof. Dr. Atima Sharma Dwivedi read the annual report of 2017-18.

Making the gathering aware of the importance of Amar Jyoti Prof. Sharma said that it was an age-old tradition at K.M.V. since its inception to gave this warm send-off to the out-going students by showing them with a blessing for an exemplary and bright future. After the traditional songs are exclusively sung at KMV on the occasion like Jai Jai Janani, Jai Jai Mata and Namo Desh Bhumi Namaste Namaste. The outgoing students shared some nostalgic memories with all present.

This was followed by a number of students who had been placed under merit in the medical and non-medical stream and were honored under the DBT star-college scheme with cash incentives. Mr. Bachitar from the college office and Mr. Pankaj from the accounting office were honored for exemplary services rendered in the administration section.

KMV 1000 Students accorded Traditional Farewell Next in the list of honors were given to teachers who had promoted e-learning, carried on value-added programmes like personality Development, Foundation programme and Moral education programme. Dr. Madhumeet, Associate Prof. Post-Graduate Department of English and dean student welfare was honored for exemplary research and publication. She is the editor of research journal oracle. Finally, the patron and the source of inspiration for much creativity and innovation at K.M.V. Principal Madam Prof. Atima Sharma Dwivedi was honored by the faculty and organizers of the function.

The chief Guest Ms. Deepika Singh ACP crime against women observed that every time she came to KVM she realized that how keeping abreast with all that was modern and trendy, KVM kept its base firmly rooted in rich traditional legacy. She appreciated the excellent grooming KVM provided and exhorted girls to be more vocal so that much crime could be nipped in the board. Dr. Kamal Gupta advised girls that maintenance of body began in teens and good health was the key to success in life.

The programme ended with the tilak and distribution of Prasad to the outgoing students and the chanting of national anthem. Principal Prof. Atima Sharma Dwivedi congratulated organizers of the programme Dr. Shalini Gulati and Poonam Sharma.
