All India Bank Employees Association( AIBEA ) observe two-days’ Nationwide strike

Ferozepur, January 31, 2020:  The bank employees today protested in Ferozepur on a two-days’ nationwide strike call by All India Bank Employees Association – AIBEA. Prem Kumar Sharma, General Council Member, AIBEA, Ferozepur said, the nationwide strike call has been given by AIBEA over the pending demands since 2017.  He said, during the strike, the businesses, as well as the ATM services, are likely to hit in these two days.

Talking about the demands, he said, the wage agreement is pending since 2017 when the wages of bank employees are less than the state and centre government employees and the workload is increasing day by day.  Secondly, the public sector banks are being merged to make big bank houses and this is being done to camouflage the irregularities at the level of government.   The profit of public sector banks is invested on the development of the nation whereas the private sector bank profits are becoming a part of the pockets of its owners.

He further said, now the loan of corporate houses is being waived off.  It is not understood as to why the government banks are being merged.  On the other hand, new licenses are being given to private banks.

The total capital of all the government banks is not more than 4 billion as compared to the foreign bank having more than $ 40 billion. In India, 62 percent of the total capital of our country is with corporate houses.

The bank union doesn’t want that government property should go in the hands of private banks and I should be used for the development of the country itself.
