- SAYS JIT WAS AN AUTONOMOUS BODY AND STATE GOVERNMENT’S PROPERTY COULD NOT BE AUCTION FOR ITS LIABILITIES OR COMPENSATION
Jalandhar, June 13, 2018 ( By SK.Vyas): The district administration today filed an application in the local court seeking exemption from the auction of Deputy Commissioner’s residence in wake of orders of a local court.
An application to this regard was moved by the Executive Engineer (XEN) PWD Ginder Singh today.
Divulging the details, the XEN and Tehsildar KS Bhullar today said that in their petition they have sought exemption from the court on the basis of the fact that since the matter for which the auction of Deputy Commissioner’s residence has been ordered pertains to an individual and the Jalandhar Improvement Trust, which was an autonomous body. They said that as per the complainant the compensation was to be paid to him by the Jalandhar Improvement Trust. They said that so they have pleaded that the compensation could not be recovered by auction of the state government’s property whether it was Deputy Commissioner residence or any other.
Seeking relaxation from the court, the officers have urged that the orders for the auction of Deputy Commissioner’s residence must be quashed and compensation must be given to the complainant by auctioning the properties of the Jalandhar Improvement Trust and not that of the state government.
There was no lapse on the part of DC office in this case. The officers further said that the hearing of their petition was scheduled to take place on Thursday.
