53 students of schools run by the Delhi Government have cleared the Advanced Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) and 569 students have cleared the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET) this year. Chief Minister Shri Arvind Kejriwal and Deputy Chief Minister Shri Manish Sisodia congratulated the students and teachers on their record-breaking achievement.
Due to the ongoing Covid-19 crisis, stories of hope have emerged of students from humble backgrounds who fought all odds to qualify these exams with flying colours.
Amid the COVID pandemic 569 students of the Delhi government schools have qualified NEET examination out of which 379 are girls: CM Arvind Kejriwal
Shri Arvind Kejriwal said, “NEET, formerly known as All India in pre- medical Test, conducted for students who wish to study in undergraduate medical courses and dental courses in government or private colleges in India, recently announced its results. Around 569 students from schools run by the Delhi government qualified for the exam. Out of these 569 students, 67% which is approximately 379 are girls. I am extremely proud of the fact that girls have performed extremely well.”

Talking about JEE the CM said, “Around 443 students from government schools cleared JEE Mains and 53 have qualified for JEE Advanced and have secured a seat for themselves in IITs.”
The Joint Entrance Examination is the examination organised by NTA for admission to various undergraduate engineering and architecture colleges including IITs.
If we give an equal and good education to children of poor families, then they can perform brilliantly: CM Arvind Kejriwal
Arvind Kejriwal said, “I am apprising you about these students and their background because talent isn’t determined by money. If given an equal opportunity and right to quality education, children belonging to lower-middle-class families have the ability to achieve greater heights.”

For the children who have passed class 12 but their parents do not have money for higher education the Delhi government will provide scholarship and loans without guarantee: CM Arvind Kejriwal
The CM said, “I want to promise to every student that they need not worry about financial resources. All students who have cleared 12th and who lack resources for higher education, but have secured admission in colleges, Delhi government has scholarships to offer and any student, rich or poor can get a loan amount of upto Rs 10 lakh without submitting any collateral from Delhi Government and can exercise their right to education.”

Five students from RPVV, Paschim Vihar have qualified, which is the highest from any single Delhi Government school. In this school, the total number of students in science stream this year was 68.
Details and background of some achievers:
Ayush Bansal from RPVV, Paschim Vihar has secured 189 rank (General-EWS Category) with 180 marks. In mains he secured 99.33 percentile. 95% marks in Class 12 CBSE board exam. He has been offered admission in Electronics and Communication at IIT Roorkie.
His father works in a book depot with a monthly income of Rs. 5000 annually and has some serious health problems.
Nikhil from RPVV Dwarka Sector 19 has secured 678 rank (OBC Category) with 154 marks. Secured 99.28 percentile in JEE Mains. Secured 92% in CBSE class 12 exam. He has been offered admission in Aerospace engineering at IIT Bombay.
He also represented India at the International Olympiad of Metropolises 2018 Moscow, Russia. His father runs a cycle repair shop and mother is a housewife.Garvit Batra from RPVV Paschim Vihar secured 1228 (General- EWS category) with 116 marks. In mains he secured 99.37 percentile. In class 12 he secured 94.6% marks. He has been offered admission in Industrial & Systems engineering at IIT Kharagpur.
His father is an AC mechanic with monthly income of Rs. 8000.
Vaibhav Goyal from GSV Sham Nath Marg has secured 3578 (General) with 161 marks. In mains he secured 99.69 percentile. He secured 94.2% in Class 12 board. He has been offered admission in Chemical engineering at IIT Roorkie.
His father is a small shopkeeper in a local market.

Twenty-nine students from SKV, Molarband have qualified, which is the highest from any school. There were 118 students in science stream in the school.
Twenty-four students from SKV, C1 Yamuna Vihar, have qualified which had 137 students in the science stream.
Twenty-three students from SKV, Noor Nagar have qualified, which had 81 students in the science stream.
There are 28 students who have obtained more than 500 marks out of 720. Details of some of them are as follows:
Tamanna Goyal passed from RPVV, Rohini Sector 11 in 2018 and has obtained 695 marks with an all India rank of 173 (EWS Category rank 11).
Tamanna completed her 12th class in 2018 and has been preparing for two years.
Tamanna’s mother works as a housemaid in nearby houses while her father does not have a steady job.
Vidhi Gupta from SKV, GT Road, Shahdara has obtained 691 marks with an all India rank of 212 (Category rank 152).
Vidhi’s father is an employee in a small private firm and her mother is a housewife. She passed 12th class with 98.6% in 2020.
Khush Garg from RPVV, Gandhi Nagar has obtained 680 marks with an all India rank of 709 (Category rank 453).
Khush’s father is a 9th class pass out and runs a rented shop in Shahdara.
He earns a monthly income of Rs 12000. He completed his 12th class in 2020 with 95.6%.
Amit Kumar from SBV, A-Block Vikaspuri has obtained 647 marks with an all India rank of 4444 (category rank 2459).
Amit’s father is a farmer who stays in a village of Madhya Pradesh. His annual income is Rs 1 lakh.
Amit has been living in Delhi with his uncle since childhood. He completed his 12th class in 2018 with 83.8%,
