Jalandhar, September 24, 2920: As many as 476 unemployed youth today got placements during a Job Fair organized in the DBEE office at the district administrative complex.
Deputy Commissioner Ghanshyam Thori said that a total of 529 unemployed youth took part in the job fair. He said a total of 39 companies including Airtel, Pukhraj health Care, Amit Traders, Eureka Forbes, Life Insurance Company, Shree Ram Insurance, CSE and others participated in the fair.
He said that the job fairs are first of its kind initiative of the state government to provide a livelihood to the unemployed youth of the state by providing a common platform to job providers and job seekers.
He added all Covid protocols including social distancing and masking were strictly followed during the job fair. The Deputy Commissioner further said that the selection of the youth for jobs is being done purely on merit through a fair and transparent system.
Deputy Commissioner also informed on September 25, another job fair would be organized in the Office of District Industries Centre (DIC) in which companies like Ajay Industries, EM CEE CEE sports, Laghu Udyog Bharti, Jainsons Industries, Sachdeva Metal Works, Rubber Footwear Association, Victor Forgings and others would participate and would offer jobs to the unemployed youths.
